Sabrina Smith is a groundbreaking advocate for justice and the first
woman from death row in the United States to be exonerated after being
wrongfully convicted. Her harrowing journey through the criminal
justice system has transformed her into a powerful voice for reform and
a beacon of hope for those affected by wrongful convictions. In 2024,
she launched the “Justice Reimagined” initiative, focusing on legislative
changes to prevent wrongful convictions. As a Communication Spe-
cialist for Witness to Innocence, she recently introduced her first email
series aimed at raising awareness and fostering community engagement.
In 2025, she served as a keynote speaker at multiple national confer-
ences, advocating for transparency in the justice system and empowering
communities to fight for reform.
