Susan Giannoni Zepeda is a nurse and author whose work is deeply inspired by real-life experiences of love, illness, and resilience.
After years of caring for patients, Susan faced her own serious health challenges. Initially at home, she endured severe medical complications from COVID managing with home health care providers and her extensive clinical background to navigate critical moments. When she could not manage the severe medical issues, multiple hospitalizations ensued. Nearly two years were spent in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and various care facilities. Susan then transitioned home with caregivers for her continued recovery.
In the midst of her own medical battle—and while grieving the loss of her husband—she also assisted her stepson through a rare and life-threatening medical emergency. These experiences became a powerful foundation for her storytelling.
She wrote her debut novel, DreamChasers, while residing in a skilled nursing facility under the pen name Eda deMoise.
Writing was a tool supporting her mental health and her unending connection to hope.
Its sequel, Beyond the Virus, continues her journey under her real name. Romance and medical drama are blended with deeply personal, true-to-life experiences.
Through The DreamChasers Series: Love, Survival & Healing, Susan offers an authentic moving portrayal of what it means to endure, to love deeply, have faith and to never give up hope. She continues to rebuild her life one step at a time.
She lives in California continuing to inspire others through her story and writing.
