Roger Fisher advanced from his Bachelor of Science teaching degree to a dental degree at the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry, 1988, with the honor of being the class president.
At the age of 65, Roger received the “Point of Light Award” by the Governor of Nebraska for an individual’s life long pursuit of helping needy persons in Nebraska.
In addition to Director of Dentistry, he held positions such as President (2 terms), Vice President and Board Member giving 13 years to a nonprofit organization. During this time Roger led the building of a $300,000+ state of the art, free extraction clinic for needy dental patients. Besides dentistry, Roger’s love of tennis resulted in becoming a certified USPTA tennis professional, teaching in clubs and creating a nation wide tennis program entitled, “Zoo Tennis” for children and parents.
Ventriloquism became a hobby and passion at age 70. His performances have been enjoyed nationwide at national public parks, senior centers, churches, coffee shops. After 100’s of venues including a YouTube Channel which garnered as much as 70,000+ views worldwide in one week.
The International Ventriloquist Convention picked Roger as a final eight medalist. He performed in the open mic competition.
Now at age 73 he’s still a practicing dentist, lives in Lincoln, Nebraska, within the view of Cornhusker Football Stadium (Lincoln Memorial and Tom Osborne Field).
