In this poignant collection, a survivor bares her soul through essays and poems that artfully chronicle a journey of breakage and rejuvenation. Each piece serves as a milestone, mapping out a life traversed through shadows cast by family and societal expectations, only to emerge into the light of self-discovery and resilience. With unflinching honesty and a voice seasoned by tribulation, her words are an invocation for fellow survivors—a torch in the darkness to guide others towards their own emancipation. This is not just a narrative, but a manifesto of personal revolution, urging every reader to confront their trauma with grace and to claim their own narrative of survival and victory.
In this powerful testament to resilience, the author extends a hand of solidarity to those who have navigated the precarious journey through trauma. Unveiling the profound wisdom and unique survival skills developed in adversity’s shadow, the narrative honors the unseen battles fought and the silent victories won. Whether wounded by life’s betrayals or shaped by challenges, the reader is invited to recognize themselves as part of a valiant legion of survivors. This book stands as a beacon of hope—a reminder that even in isolation, one is part of a mighty collective, ever united in courage and compassion. Through shared stories and understanding, this work is a resounding call to those seeking kinship along the path of healing. For anyone who has faced the darkness and emerged with a heart still beating with purpose, this volume is a tribute to the strength found in unity and the transformative power of shared survivorship.

G.G. is a survivor, advocate and lover of words. A book judged by the cover far too many times which led to her passion for advocacy of those who may or may not be able to speak for themselves. It was important to her that equality, independent thought and strength be central in her message to each young person she taught and or mentored. Her dedication to breaking cycles swirled through both her personal and professional life. As a true southern belle, G.G. would never speak of her past but never forgot it.
