The Gift I Already Had is an inspirational story about an outcast teenager named Dill Manchester. Popular for not being in the In crowd. However, Dill decided all that was going to change. From dealings with a rowdy bunch out of Dill’s league to falling in love with a hot girl and to losing himself, his friends, and all that Dill had worked up to be only to gain something greater, this book shows the rejection of a teen trying to fit in just to realize that what he had already and what God had destined him to do with what he had was more than enough than to go chase after some fleeting popularity that just left him empty inside.
This short story shows the gift that God has given to all of us. There should be no chasing around for a ten-point program to find the gift God has for us or trying to be the person that society tells us that we should fit into. Each of us has a mold from God that He has prepared for us to fit into, and once we work from the mold that God has handpicked for us, we will shine a light for ourselves and others around us.
