Eduardo Salazar Castillo Author Bio – By A Friend
Eduardo Salazar Castillo is a lifelong native Texan, born in the Rio Grande Valley. Ever since the third grade he had been a lover of reading. Books like ‘Goblins in the Castle,’ ‘Hank the Cow Dog,’ and the ‘Great Illustrated Classics Series’ fed his love for the written word. Those books led to a love of not just classics or great works but a love of history, Pantheons of Gods, poetry, fantasy and sci-fi. As mountains of books began to build, a second great love was growing. A love for writing.
Like any new writer, Eduardo began to picture great and grand stories. Sadly, all those great works were grand in idea but were just the jumping off point. They helped to teach him how to build and change the body of an idea while keeping its heart and soul intact. He wrote over two dozen books that never saw the light of day. They were the perfect training ground for someone looking to learn to create a concise and comprehensive storylines.
After years and years of writing, Eduardo took a break from writing to read more and more novels. Not simply to enjoy himself but to study and learn from amazing authors. Author like Jim Butcher, Simon R. Green, Mel Odem even the master of horror Stephen King. Their heroes and villains helped expand his mind set for creating nuggets that could be turned into gold.
He finally began what would be his first novel in 2022; Sophie the Magnificent and the Moon City. Which was published on March 23, 2023. His second novel was published January 16, 2026. This second novel is, ‘The Hour of Blood.”
And the rest is history.
Notes about the author from Friends
I highly recommend Eduardo Salazar Castillo for anyone looking for an author that utilizes a distinct background and style to create truly original work. Combining the cultural influences of his Latino background and deep Austin roots. Eduardo‘s character development is truly unique and produces rich characters, many of which are based off of people he knows in real life. His combination of imaginative storytelling and well-paced design lend to a compelling storyline that grabs your attention and keeps it from cover to cover. If you’re ready to immerse yourself in the pages of an adventure like you’ve never experienced, you’ve come to the right place.

Eduardo is a creative, humble, brilliant, hilarious human. When I first met him, I simply thought he was respectable and kind. Then, he would say things, and I was taken aback. His humor can be light and silly, and sometimes more on the edgy side. I have read so many stories that blend together because it feels like all the ideas have already been taken, only to be recycled over and over. Eduardo puts unique spins on creatures. He thinks of situations and developments that you don’t see coming. I hope to see his books realized into sequels and movies one day.
