I’m a retired Staff Sergeant in the US Army. I sustained a career ending traumatic brain injury in Baghdad, Iraq during my second combat tour of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom. During my second tour of duty in Iraq, I was responsible for leading a Route Clearance team in and around Baghdad, and the surrounding areas. My team and I were responsible for finding and clearing hundreds of improvised explosive devices in and around Baghdad from 2007, until my career ending injury.
