From Surviving to Shining is the telling of Caleb’s illumination, their release of the weight of their past and their spiritual awakening. Caleb has found so much healing, joy, enlightenment, and self-discovery through the poetry writing process. Caleb was a lost soul for so long. Drowning in fear, anger, resentment, sorrow, self-pity, shame, and so many other character defects. Since finding their higher power, Birdie, Caleb has been able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and now has hope for their future. Caleb aims to touch other lost souls and remind them they are exactly where they are supposed to be. That they too can find the light.
