Ellen Laverne writes historical romance, romantasy, and dark romance filled with passion,
danger, and fiercely devoted heroes. A lifelong lover of love stories, she first discovered
historical romance as a girl sneaking her mother’s well-worn bodice rippers and reading them by flashlight long after the rest of the house had fallen asleep—a habit that quietly shaped the stories she would one day tell herself.
After serving twenty years in the United States Navy, Ellen traded sea duty for storytelling,
drawing on a life rich with adventure, discipline, and resilience to craft emotionally intense
romances where love is never easy—but always worth fighting for.
She lives in Charles City, Virginia, with three dogs, two cats, and an ever-changing flock of
chickens. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found cooking, baking, or running her small mobile bakery during the summer months.
Ellen believes the best romances are the ones that keep you turning pages long past
bedtime—preferably with a warm drink, a cozy blanket, and just a little heartbreak before the happily ever after.
